Laguna Perolcocha

Instead of visiting Laguna 69 after the day trip to Laguna Parón, I was convinced to do a two day trip to another valley in the mountain range Cordillera Blanca. It was Angel the owner of the hostel I staid in who persuaded me to visit the Laguna Perolcocha with him.

Angel has undoubtedly the expertises as a guide in the mountains of the Huascarán National Park. I figured this out while 18 year old Rodrigo and Angel were running up the mountain and I almost fainted by trying to keep up with them. I put too much effort in the ascension, hence I started to have a ugly headache and lost my appetite. Such a shame then Rodrigo caught a huge Trucha for dinner.Read more
