Day 49, Uyuni

We arrived exactly on time in Uyuni, 06:00. The bus ride was too hot because the heater was on full. In Uyuni it was quite cold (7°), and Uyuni is about 1000 meters higher than Sucre, so we felt that too. We were a bit quickly out of breath again and a bit fuzzy in our heads, but that was gone after a few hours.
We waited at the bus station untill there would be more light and life in town, so we wouldn't get robbed again.
We went for some overpriced breakfast and went to the hotel. We could drop our bags, but had to wait untill 11 to check in.
So we walked around the town, which has a big wild west atmosphere. There is sand and dust everywhere. There are also a lot of old trains everywhere. We were wondering if we should say hello to the sheriff of the town, but we didn't. 😝
Wifi is really bad here. At 11.00 we checked in, and the lady wanted to give us a room, but we booked a train 🤭 she made a mistake and we got the key of our train wagon. We went out to book a tour through the Uyuni salt desert and after that went shopping for our trip. It was really dusty and hot, we had to protect our eyes because of the sand, that was flying around because of the wind. We went back to the train, but it was super hot. We tried to nap anyway. Nope. Too hot. Then we decided to eat something, and discovered that carnaval is not over here yet, but we had enough. Went to the wagon ( it was not that hot anymore) and made some instant noodles for dinner, it was not that bad. After dinner we went to bed, watched some netflix and get some rest and save energy for our trip tomorrowLæs mere
