    St Agnes

    September 10, 2020 in England ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

A short trip up the coast to another place that Jonathon, (our guide in Plymouth) suggested was worth a look.
Very much still within the tin and copper mining territory the coast line was busy with old workings and the remnants of engine towers. Our first walk around the St Agnes head took us to the tower at Towanroath Shaft Engine House, which is high on the cliff top. In behind it lies Wheal Coates, one of the larger ruins. We followed inland for a bit to climb up to St Agnes Beacon prior to returning to the clifftop to walk around St Agnes Head. The scenery on the coastline was once again awesome. We returned to site via St Agnes village, a nice spot.Read more
