    Reykjavík

    August 24, 2017 in Iceland ⋅ ☁️ 12 °C

Finally, we went back to Reykjavik after a trip around the whole Iceland! What an achievement. In the last day, we visited Settlement centre, National Museum of Iceland and Hallgrimskirkja. We stayed again at Blue House B&B as Day 1 as a completed circle!

    Langjokull Glacier Klaki Basecamp

    August 23, 2017 in Iceland ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

As the weather was extremely well, we drove to the nearby glacier to take a look. It's very remote and quiet. We didn't join the tour and thus didn't walk on the glacier. But being at the base camp was good enough to admire the nature wonder.

  • Day13

    Vidgelmir Cave

    August 23, 2017 in Iceland ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

in the afternoon, we joined the tour to Vidgelmir Cave. The tour lasted around 1.5 hours and was quite informative (but the kids thought that it's very boring with nothing to see or touch).

It's very cold inside the cave. You must bring enough layers of clothes.

    Hraunfossar

    August 23, 2017 in Iceland ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

We were fast approaching the final part of our trip. We drove to Deildartunguhver, which was a hot spring. But it was under renovation and thus there was not much to see. Afterwards, we had picnic at Hraunfossar, which was a very nice waterfall. It's too bad that there was no trail to go to the riverside.Read more

    Saxhólar Crater

    August 22, 2017 in Iceland ⋅ ☀️ 13 °C

We originally planned to go to another mountain to have a hike but because of the flat tire, we didn't take the risk too far and just took a short walk at Saxholar Crater, which was only 100m in height with staircase. Nevertheless, the sight was good!

  • Day12

    Arnarstapi

    August 22, 2017 in Iceland ⋅ ☀️ 11 °C

The next stop was Arnarstapi and we started a hike here to the next township. After a 2.5km walk along the cliff, we arrived the cafe before to enjoy a break. And then return in the same way back to Arnarstapi. The scenes along the walk were really wonderful.

  • Day12

    Rauðfeldsgjá Gorge

    August 22, 2017 in Iceland ⋅ ☀️ 11 °C

Today we went to the Snaefellsjoekull National Park, which is full of interesting hikes and places.

The first stop was a hike along a narrow stream. But the stones were very slippery and we found it quite challenging to continue. We could only be able to walk several meters inside the ravine and then returned, though the scenes were very impressive already.Read more
