    Visiting the elephant rehab center...

    July 18, 2017 in India ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

Today's agenda included an early morning wake up call to get ready and head to the Elephant Rehab Center outside of TVM. We watched elephants get bathed, fed and even had some fun playful moments with the youngest ones - as young as 3 months old! Anay's mushroom cut was a source of intrigue for the younger ones who were constantly checking it out with their trunks! 😎

The rehab center takes in elephants of all sizes and ages - most have been involved in some accident in the forests or have been separated from their group or otherwise in a bad state threatening their survival. They are treated here and released back into the wild when they are ready.

Finally after 2 weeks on the road, we get to chill in TVM for the next few days. Mummy-Daddy greeted us at the airport and got back home by 4:30 AM. Everyone slept in a bit - woke up slowly around 10 for idlis, magic tricks & books from Amooma!Read more

    Adios Europe - Hello Asia!

    July 13, 2017 in Austria ⋅ 🌙 17 °C

A slow day in Vienna - checked out the Innere Stadt with the Royal Opera house and cathedral before ending the tour with a visit to schonbrunner palace. Checked out of the hotel at 4 and lazed around the lounge till 7 before getting lucky with Uber again and getting a "big" enough European car to lug our stuff to the airport.

120 degree weather awaits us at the other end of the flight! 😱😱😱

    Wien for the win!

    July 12, 2017 in Austria ⋅ 🌧 21 °C

After another fun morning exploring Salzburg, we finally (& reluctantly) bid adieu to this most amazing city and caught the train to Vienna or Wien as the locals spell it.

Checked into the Imperial Riding School - it was built in 1850 & used to be the military riding school back in the day. Nowadays it is just the largest Marriott in Austria! Got a nice upgrade to the junior suite - boys love the free mini bar (Anay just discovered 7up!) and the lounge with food and drink 24x7!!!

Took it nice and easy this evening with a little stroll around the city - plan is to keep it simple tomorrow as well and check out the Innere Stadt(inner city). Hang out a bit at the hotel with a late checkout at 4 pm and then head over to the airport for the flight to Doha!

Inching our way to Trivandrum!!! 😀

    Checking out Salzburg

    July 10, 2017 in Austria ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

So checked into the Crowne Plaza hotel and it is beautiful! Well long story short, Priya canceled her trip here but could not cancel the room so transferred over to us and now we have 2 rooms in this centrally located hotel!

Quick shower for the boys and off we go to explore the city... Mirabel gardens is right outside the hotel and through it to the old city or Aldstadt as it is called. We went over the lock bridge - all kinds of locks on it as we entered the old city!

Had a nice dinner sitting outside when a thunderstorm came down - scrambled inside to finish off but that was the end of the day sadly as it is still raining. Tomorrow is a new day!
