    Chilling & orga day

    Today I planned some stuff for Colombia & I booked at the 07.06 a 5 day tour over the San blas islands to panama. I decided to stay 6 weeks in Colombia 😍

    Then I said goodbye to Doug. I really enjoyed staying with him!😍

    Afterwards I met Lara from Mendoza again & I chilled with her the till my dinner at the hostel. It was super cool to saw her again 🙌🏽

    I spoke at the dinner also to Leona and we will stay 3 days in otavalo for the biggest market in South America at Saturday 💪🏽

    Arriving at otavallo

    After breakfast Leona and myself drove to otovallo. 2h bus from the northern bus terminal.

    Afterwards we enjoyed drinking coffee at the plaza and saw an dancing parade, which was fun.

    Then we clarified some bus stuff and we wanted to book flights for Leona for the Galapagos. But it was not working as expected, so we went for dinner.

    Because I really helped her with the flights and I was so „geduldig“ with her, she payed for my dinner. She was really pleased about my help!

    We also spoke to Michael from Australia in the evening and decided to go together to the market tomorrow.

    I really enjoyed the last 2 chilled days, but I recognised again, that the chilled and relaxed travelling with only good food and coffee is not mine. I rather be super active and see much stuff!    Leia mais

    Market + Waterfall + Parque condor

    In the morning I went with Leona and Michael to a food court (looks super new) and we had dinner there. Michael is an lawyer (worked to much in his life) and Leona a Teacher.

    They are 30&35 and I never hanged out longer with people in that age. It is nice:)

    So after breakfast we walked 2h around the city so explore the big market in otovallo. All inner streets were also full of stores at the street & also before our hostel.
    So many ponchos, bags, art & i really enjoyed walking there. I bought a Souvenir.
    Edit: it was in the past the biggest market in South America and now it is one of the biggest. Afterwards I went with Michael to a cascade in the nature and it began to rain. We stayed at a cave during that.

    Then we walked to the parque condor, where we have seen the Laguna San pablo, the biggest lake in Ecuador.

    At the parque condor we have seen an bird show & the big birds impressed me super much. Also to see different owls were nice. ( I have seen Nicole from catopaxi again)
    I also hold a birg in my hand!

    Then we went back with an Canadian couple in the car, where the youngest daughter is also traveling currently. They paid for the taxi. Lovely 🥰.

    Then we met Leona at the coffee place again and after dressing up we went to a fancy dinner restaurant. Afterwards we drunk some beer at the hostel.

    Laguna Cuicocha

    In the morning Lara arrived & we are travelling now 2 weeks in Colombia!

    So she joined Leona, Michael and myself at breakfast & then we bought some snack for the hike.

    The Laguna is an Vulcano & we walked around it in 5h after going there with the bus & taxi.

    Backwards we drove with Bryan from Ecuador, because he made a picture of us and then we chatted. Cool!

    It was really nice to walk around and at the beginning also exhausting. We also had lunch at an beautiful viewpoint. The nature was insane and the first 1/4 harder, but still ok.

    We had dinner at the food court and I really enjoyed the food there! Wow, the group was super funny in otavallo & also that Lara is joining me is also super amazing. Also to travel with Leona and Michael was super fun!

    Tomorrow it is time to say goodbye to Ecuador. I really loved and enjoyed it here!
    Great people and places.

    Galapagos is still a dream, but it was currently to expensive. Leona is making a 4 night trip and is Costa her around 1700€.. wow…    Leia mais

    Ipiales & muy hermoso basilica

    Today I had to say goodbye to Leona 🥲. She was super cool.

    Afterwards Lara and myself went went to the highway and took a bus to the border at 7:50. we arrived at 10:45 there and the immigrations was the easiest I have ever done. In Ecuador 4 people have been I front of us & in Colombia no one. Also no one asked for a return ticket.

    Then we went to the ipiales bus station and left our luggage there. Afterwards we changed & withdrawaled money and I bought a SIM card. Everything seems already more cheaper.

    Then we went to National Shrine Basilica of Our Lady of Las Lajas, which impressed me and Lara suuuuuper much!
    A basilica in a valley with an patron/waterfall and a river & also the white colours😍wow!

    Lara and myself had both an emotional time in the basilica, because our granddad’s died recently.

    We walked around ~3h and went to different viewpoints.

    Afterwards we decided to eat guinea pig, what you could do in Peru or Ecuador also. But now I did it! 12€ and It was enough for 2. The haul was very good when it was warm! It was also more complicated to eat it, because of the bones. It really tasted good and I liked it, but I don’t know if I would need it again.

    Then we went to the bus station again and now we are taking a night bus to popayan, which is famous for his Centro historico.    Leia mais

    Popayan

    After 13h of drive Lara and myself arrived in popayan. We checked in and went to the free walking tour at 10:00. there we met max from Germany & pilou as well as an Holland guy.

    Popayan has an Beateful central with buildings & is known for its universities and churches.

    It is also known for the White City.

    Afterwards we all went to lunch for 1,75€. Then Lara an myself went for a nap & then we played some cards with all of the free walking tour people.

    Then we went for an amazing sunset with beers & walked afterwards trough the city at night!    Leia mais

    Transfer day to Tatacoa Desert (Neiva)

    Today Lara and myself woke up at 7:00 to catch a early bus to neiva. Unfortunately we needed to wait 1h there for a cheap bus & it took us 10 instead of 6h to get to neiva.

    The drive was still amazing because of the stunning nature trough the national park parace, where we reached 3500m. I love the nature above 3500m, because it is so different as I know.
    Below of 3500 we saw an super green nature, kinda as in Austria or at the quilotoa loop.

    Also a old woman was sitting next so us for a longer time & she was so sweet and gave us sweets.

    After we arrived we met one Swiss and one Canadian guy, with which we shared a expansive private taxi to the Zaragoza dessert, because no buses were driving anymore. We joined Noemis (Swiss) hostel.
    Afterwards we watched the stars in the sun and it was amazing😍😍

    Tatacoa Desert

    In the morning we wanted to watch the sunrise, but it rained during the that time.

    In the morning wer also saw an Papagei, who was able to say hola and vamos- super funny!

    After we woke up we got an tour to the grey and red valley. The Tatcoa desert ist not that big, so we have seen both in between 3h. In the last that area was also an lake, which impressed me.

    I enjoyed the different nature in between 10km, which was grey, red, full of flowers, cactus, cows, horses, goats and a lot of birds!

    Because you can see everything on that short period of time & I already did stargazing in San Pedro (also cloudy) we decided not to stay longer

    It was also super hot!

    Then we drove back to neiva, chilled at the plaza, drunk coffee and we are taking an overnight bus to salento now.    Leia mais

    Arriving in salento- Cocora Valley &Tejo

    We arrived at the bus terminal in Armenia at 3:00 & slept 2h at the bus terminal. The sleep was better than in the bus😂

    Then we took an bus to salento at 5:30 and we were already able to check in.

    Salento is an really chilled, but touristic place.

    We decided to go to the famous cocora-valley, which is known for its Quindío-Palm species, because they are the biggest one on the world.

    We drove there with willys, which are also famous in Colombia (picture).

    We hiked ~4h around. So amazing green landscape, loved it!

    On the hike we met dominik and Nina from Germany. After the half we hiked together. Lovely people!

    When we arrived at the most famous viewpoint it was very foggy. After the hike was done, we drunk a coffe and ate cake & we chilled at an big „Trampolin“.

    It was super chilled to chill in this area also in the grass.

    In the evening we met dominik and Nina again to play tejo. tejo is a national sport of Colombia. (iron throw object into „Lehm“ area). There is an iron ring in the middle and around the ring are papers with him powder. If you hit the paper with gun powder, it makes an loud noise. The evening with playing, eating pizza and drinking beer was awesome. In summary an amazing day!    Leia mais

    Coffee-Farm & sunset

    Today we slept out and had breakfast on the hostel at the morning. Then we walked to a coffee-farm, where thousands are around here. Salento/Manizales is known for it‘s coffee-region.

    We got an private tour, where we got in touch with the coffee-production.

    They also produce Geisha coffee-beans here, which is known for the most expensive coffee in the world! (Not the poop of an animal- The kopi-Luwak coffee in Indonesia is the most expensive one!)

    Our guide was amazing & the tour was super interesting. We also got 2 free coffees & I also ordered another cappuccino. We chilled there super long & it was super relaxed. The nature, birds and the plants are beautiful here.

    Afterwards I met shaked from Calefornia again (La Paz, nice evening🤭😉), which was cool.

    Then an Colombian couple drove us back to salento (the hill would be also super steep). Also Lara is feeling not that good currently 🥲).

    Santa rita cascadas& transfer to medelli

    After breakfast I went with Simon and caro from Poland to a waterfall and an hike in the nature! Before of that I called with my family, and it was nice to see them & speek to them 🥰

    We saw one big and a few small waterfalls and the landscape was amazing! I really enjoyed the relax day today & chilling in this area from the waterfalls & l also went swimming in the waterfall!

    At 8:30 pm we begun driving to Medellin ~10h with an night bus.

    I am looking forward to Medellin and Guatape & I am excited about the history, which Medellin offers!

    Also Simon and caro are going to the medellin with the night bus 😊    Leia mais

    Arriving in medellin+ Comuna 13

    We arrived in Medellin faster than expected: at 3:30 am.
    So we decided to sleep at the bus terminal again, where the security said all the time we are not allowed to sleep there 😂

    In the morning we had breakfast at the hostel after arriving at 7:00. then we decided to to a comuna 13 tour, which is known for the most dangerous place in 2010. but it changed. Now it is an touristic place. We also got a lot of information about Pablo Escobar. There is also a lot of nice graffity art!

    We chilled at this area a lot& drunk bear there and enjoyed life🙈

    In the evening we played uno and drunk beer with an British, Italian amguy and an Mexican girl.

    Centro + cable car + sunset hill

    In the morning we went after breakfast to an tour around the Centro. We joined a group, which was already 1h going 🤦🏼‍♂️ but we didn’t find our one 😂 the tour was ok.
    Afterwards we explored the Centro by ourself.

    then we drove with the cable car, which is also public transport for the people here (6lines).

    With an nice view we ate lunch & drove with another line.

    With the metro we drove to an hill close to our hostel, where we watched the sunset.
    I the evening we chilled again in the hostel and drunk beer and played uno

    Parque arvi

    Today I went with the polish couple to a park outside of Medellin. Unfortunately Lara is a little bit sick again. We went there with a cable car and also fiona from Cuenca/Quilotoa joined us there, as well as the friends from caro and Simon.

    We walked around 3 1/2h and chilled in the grass to play some cards.

    We also watched the sunset and I have seen rainbow colours during the sunset! I don’t know how this happens, but is was a so beautiful nature spectacle!!

    In the evening we cooked tacos and played uno again.

    I really enjoyed the vibes in the hostel (super relaxing).

    Tomorrow we drive with the polish couple to guatape and we will sleep one night there.    Leia mais
