• Day 6-Final pool day in Mexico 🇲🇽

    14 aprile, Messico ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Today was our final full day in the resort! It was a little bittersweet but we decided to make the best of it! Our one friend left early because she had a planned excursion she decided to go on. She planned to go visit a cenote (a type of sinkhole that forms and it opens up to an underground pool of crystal-clear water) and snorkel around there. Super exciting stuff but the rest of us just wanted to spend our last day chilling by the pool. It was so nice to just relax by the pool, fell asleep a few times, and even played poolside bingo!
After lunch, our friend came back and joined us in relaxing by the pool. There was a fun game for people to join called “Mayan Ball” where there is a rope tied to a stick on one side, and you hold the ends of it really tightly. The staff balance a basketball on your side and you’re supposed to use the ropes to balance the ball and roll it towards the stick end where there’s a bucket below, and you have to open the rope wide enough when the ball rolls closer to the bucket to get it in. It’s quite hard from the looks of it. Two of my friends tried it, one got to the finals but someone else ended up winning haha! It was an exciting game! 🏀
We wandered around the resort a bit and saw some hammocks! It was fun and chill for a little, then we went near a riverbank and saw a big alligator! 🐊
For this evening’s dinner, we didn’t end up booking any restaurants and just decided to go to the buffet one last time for dinner. This evening’s cuisine was “Oriental”, essentially it was many Asian cuisines served together. They had some sushi, poke bowls, stir fry noodles etc. Everything was alright! I absolutely loved the fruits, especially the figs. I will definitely miss this fruit the most. Figs are always quite expensive in Toronto, so having the ability to take as many as I like was soooo amazing! And even better, it was extra sweet here in Cancun! Delish! 😋
We had our last ice cream night, which was pretty good! That night they had another circus show, which was basically the same show we saw the first night!
There was another DJ night that evening with our friend Gabriel as the DJ! We saw him and said our goodbyes, which was a bit sad but we may run into him again one day, who knows! We stayed and danced for a little before leaving to sleep in Cancun one last time! 😴
