Not Quite the “Death Road”

The road from Trinidad to La Paz is a classic drive that takes a few days. Starting at a few hundred metres above sea level we move from Amazon jungle, over a number of increasingly high passes, with the vegetation also changing from lush green to altiplano desert. The towns on the way are off the tourist route, with meat and beer and evening staple. The road itself ranges from average to very bad and we get another large piece of metal lodged in a tyre.
