Insta-Famous Huacachina

It was on the way and there was a reasonable campground, so we spent our first night back at sea level at Huacachina. Instagram famous for being an oasis in the desert, in reality it is little more than a handful of bars, restaurants, and hostels around a not-so lovely small lake. And rather than the remote, wilderness location it is often presented as, in reality it is only a couple of kms from a city of one million people. But enough criticism. It is a unique location amongst the white sand dunes, hosting a multitude of sand-related activities and we enjoyed our single night.Read more
