A Pleasant Surprise

With Scotland behind us, we spend our first couple of nights back in England in the northern city of Newcastle (upon Tyne). We hadn't put much thought into this stopover, but we really enjoyed our time in the city. It's got a great history, feels lively, and there is plenty to see.
