Luang Prabang part 2

After Nong khiaw, we headed back to Luang Prabang for a week. This time we were across the street from the Mekong, a bit south of the happening part of town.
We did a few tourist sites, the grand palace and national museum, and many wats. It was hot!!
We enjoyed the town, but would have liked it more if we were a bit closer in. It was a 15 minute walk to the night market area, and 30-40 min if we walked to the far end of the peninsula. Which is usually no big deal, but for this heat of 95 daily.

We did spend one day with a private driver who took us up to Kuang Si falls, which are spectacular. Reminded us of Plitvice and also the falls near Palenque. We took a dip that was so refreshing!Read more
