Montemarte & Sacre Coeur I

We caught the Metro to Pigalle and fought the Saturday morning crowds to take some of the quieter cobbled streets up to Montmartre. The cafes, shops and roads were buzzing with people! We passed the Moulin de la Galette, and lots of souvenir shops on our way to la basilique du Sacré-Cœur.

After a short family conference, we decided that the dome could be a good way to tick off Rigo's wish to go up a high thing. We joined the fast-moving queue and made our way inside the basilica. Coen lit a candle by his chosen Saint and we marvelled at the mosaics, stained glass and models.Read more
