Kontrollen und Polizeipräsenz

Als wir mit dem Taxi zu unserem Hotel gefahren sind, konnte der Taxifahrer nicht auf das Hotelgelände fahren, ohne dass ein Polizist den Koffer- und den Innenraum zu untersuchen. Nach was da Ausschau gehalten wird, kann ich nur vermuten, wissen tun wir es nicht.

Auch als wir abends in diesem Restaurant und Einkaufsviertel waren, ist uns schon arg aufgefallen, wie viel schwer bewaffnete Polizisten überall präsent sind. Sie tragen das Maschinengewehr immer direkt am Bauch, mit beiden Händen fest im Griff. Ich bin froh, dass wir nicht miterlebt haben, wie sie davon Gebrauch machen, aber ich bin mir sicher, dass es manchmal nötig ist.

Ich hatte keine günstige Gelegenheit das bildlich festzuhalten und wie man auf einem meiner Foto sieht, sehen die auch alles.

Even when we were in this restaurant and shopping area in the evening, we noticed how much heavily armed police officers are present everywhere. You always carry the machine gun directly on their stomach, with both hands firmly under control. I am glad that we have not seen how they use it, but I am sure that it is sometimes necessary.
