Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon! I had been to the Grand Canyon when I was 5 or 7, but I had only been on the rim looking across the vast scar cut into the earth by the magnificent Colorado River. This time I would venture into the depths of one of the most recognized canyons in the world. The morning passed by quickly. After waking up early because of the cold, I eventually thawed out and checked out the visitor center. After a quick video about the canyon I was ready to hit the trail. Time to unpack the gear I would need for the next three days and fit it all in my little camelbak. Another hour goes by before I manage to efficiently pack up the bike and my backpack. I hop on the shuttle bus and arrive at the Bright Angel trailhead around 11:30. The days hike will descend 4380 feet spanning 9.5 miles.もっと詳しく
