Now at our furthest extent up the river, we have travelled 1000 nautical miles along the Amazon. Winding deep into this pocket of thriving civilization located at the center of the jungle, we made our way to Amazonian Research Bosque da Ciência. There we encountered young manatees being bred for later release into the wild and electric eels.
