    Evans Head

    September 13, 2022 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

Had a great sleep and slowly moving this morning. Went for a shower, freshened up and went for a walk. The tide was quite high and the water looked beautiful! But then the wind whipped through and damn was it cold. We walked up the breakwall, which copped a lot of damage in the Feb floods, heaps of rocks washed off into the water, Pop said he was able to get Ma's memorial plaque off her rock before the water raged through, somehow her rock survived though. We went to Sandpit Cafe at the surf club for a feed, cubano sandwich and chips for Ben, haloumi breakfast wrap for me and a coffee. Continued on our walk and met back up with Pop at his place. We sat in the sunshine and relaxed before hopping in the car with Pop and Joy to go upto Razorback lookout, such a great view but too windy to make prawn rolls. Back down to Shark Bay, much more protected from the wind and still a lovely spot. We peeled 2kg of prawns and made rolls, sooo good. I even peeled my own, Pop used to do them for me for years when we went to Eastern Tiger for everyone's birthday dinners. He was impressed with how quick I've gotten haha. Back for a snooze, because why not? Then up for beer o'clock and nibbles. Barry the neighbour popped around for a bit and Joy did too. It got pretty cold so we ended up inside, had cocktail frankfurts and just stayed up talking crap before bed. It was really nice.Read more
