• More bloody rain

    Woke up to more drizzle on and off, not ideal. In a break of weather we packed up and hit the road to Bairnsdale. We had plans to go to Paynesville then over to Raymond Island if the weather cleared, but the rain kept getting heavier and heavier the closer we got. We were getting pretty hungry too, so a quick google gave us a list of a few good bakeries. Having the camper attached, meant that we had to do a few laps to find a carpark big enough. I ran into Jarrod's bakery and grabbed some of their award winning pies - chicken, cheese, bacon & mustard, a steak & mushroom, a farmhouse with egg, & a steak, cheese & bacon. We found a bridge to park under for some reprieve from the rain, to get away from the traffic of the main roads, and to scoff down the pies. So bloody good, especially on a day like today. All of the things to do in Bairnsdale were outside, the Mitchell River walk for example, but the rain was absolutely flogging down, so we kept moving.Read more
