A test run in the camper

    July 22, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 14 °C

Ben had footy this morning, so we didn't set off until late. Google maps sent us through Bylong as it was the 'quicker route', rather than via Merriwa. Well it was a good test for the camper since the roads were so bloody windy and it was getting dark. Pup was pretty unsettled on the way out, we haven't done a big drive with him for a bit.
It was dark and windy when we arrived at the Big4, so we decided against setting up the annex, just the camper. Ben ducked out to get KFC for dinner as we just didn't feel like battling the wind.
Bed time not long later, Pup decided he has to be right with us, on our bed instead of his queen option at the end of the camper.

  • Mudgee Wine Tour

    July 23, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

We had a wine tour booked in today with Mark. We found him on instagram, he lives in the area and this is his 'retirement job'.
It was a big, lovely day! Pup was so good, he even went for a little wander with Mark.

  • Not feeling too flash

    July 24, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

We woke up not feeling to flash, particularly myself. We'd already planned a cruisy day just in case.
We headed into the main street to grab a feed and have a bit of a shop. Lots of lovely cafes and pubs around. We had bacon and egg rolls to fuel us up to survive the day.
After a feed and a nice walk around the sculpture garden, we headed back to the camper for a nap.
Not much else today, just cruised about, it was nice.

  • Time to move

    July 25, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

Woke up with a bit of a fever and boogers, so the hangover yesterday has turned into a cold, funnn.
We got ourselves organised and packed up before heading in town for a feed and another wander. Mark suggested we pop into the winery he works at occasionally on the way to our next site. We stopped at Burrendulla, Mark wasn't working but the gentleman there was lovely. I had a tasting, bought a bottle and kept moving.
We're staying at Cudgegong River for a night, so we stopped off and went for a walk along the damn, enjoying the view. It was a bit hot though so Ben gave Pup a lift back to the car.
What a bloody beautiful campsite! Right on the water, not a heap of shade though so although I'd say it's very popular in Spring/summer for fishing and watersports, it'd be super hot too. We set up and just enjoyed the space. Definitely coming back here some time.

  • Heading home

    July 26, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

We had a bit of a sleep in today, just heading home with no big plans and a late check out. Cooked up a big breaky and enjoyed the waterfront. Nice quick drive home. Lovely test run in the camper!
