Montreal-du-Gers

Arrived. According to Emily’s spreadsheet, I have about 228 km left to go to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, having covered about 511 KM since July 18.

Today offered a great little hike. I missed the heat of the day and am glad of it. I took a little side trip to Larressingle, a medieval fortress town (like a mini Carcassonne— the castle, where the movie, “The Last Duel” was filmed). I’m looking forward to making my way around town after lunch. This afternoon I watched the set up for this evening’s festival in the Village Square. I bought a couple of postcards and tried some Floc de Gascogne ( red and white). The white had a stronger flavor and the red milder and sweet.Læs mere
