Saint-Jean-Pied-De-Port

I made it to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port (foot of the pass). Starting from Le Puy En Velayon July 18, I have covered 750 km.

Today I got entirely lost with a couple of pilgrims and made friends out of the mishap.

I was late to meet SUSAN. It didn’t really didn’t matter because we connected and enjoyed lunch at one of our favorite standby restaurants in town. We made our way about a kilometer out of town to greet our old hostsvfrom two years ago and meet their son Nino, age 19 months. Nino has one gear, full speed ahead as he charges through the farmyard scattering the cats and dogs at play. Nino’s mom and dad are obviously proud of their child.

I met a lot of my fellow pilgrims from prior stages at Mass tonight. For most, this is their last stage for this year. They will return next year and hike over the mountains to Spain. SUSAN and I have a rest day tomorrow to stroll the town and take in the sites.Læs mere
