Pyramids

To me the pyramids were a little disappointing - over enthusiastic locals who were keen to argue that you had to pay them 'because they showed you an interesting angle' to take a photo - or showed you a way into an exhibit.

Apart from the constant pressure from the locals I think the thing that struck me most was that - the pyramids aren't in the desert!!! They are at the end of a road in a Cairo suburb.

On three sides you can take photos to give the impression of desert space but from the other view it's like the sphinx is in someone's back yard

Still very memorable - for me the sphinx was more impressive but I'm glad I took a coach from Cairo museum to the siteLeggi altro
