Day 16. Time to travel home

Well that's it my trip is over, it's been fantastic, very hot and sometimes hectic, but Easter island was all I'd ever wished for , so serene and the hospitality of the people was something like I've never found elsewhere.

The Moai quarry at Rano Raraku was like a living time capsule and the silence there brought a reverence to my whole trip. So really pleased that after nearly 30 years I've finally made it to see somewhere I've always wanted to.

All that Easter island has to offer has to be contrasted with Santiago's hustle and bustle - although the vineyards added another dimension of tranquility,

I think my most memorable things were the visit to Valparaiso and the fantastic street art, closely followed by trips to the different sized vineyards, and of course the really beautiful Laguna del Inca lake where it was strange to visit a ski resort with no snow! I reckon the place would be even more stunning when the snow arrives.

So that's it done, trip over, memories made, and some brief pics here to savour, but my head is buzzing so I will leave with this page with some pics of the great food 😘Leggi altro
