    October 28, 2012 in Malaysia ⋅ ⛅ 32 °C

Awoke with very very aches legs! It's like I've done a zillion squats!

Had a lazy morning of packing our bags and breakfast, then caught a taxi to the airport.

Got an air Asia flight to sandakan, still in Borneo but on the other side of Sabah.

We are going to the orang-utan sanctuary tomorrow morning then onto a boat for an over night jungle safari tomorrow! We might be able to see tigers, crocs and pigmie elephants, as well as monkeys!

KK looked a lot nicer from above! The water looked lovely and blue with loads of coral surrounding the shore. There was also lots of little islands with boat houses/ houses on stilts off them too.

Sandakan area from the plane looked like jungle with muddy rivers everywhere, unfortunately a lot of the rainforest had been replaced with palm trees for oil in places!

We booked into sea view backpackers hostel, they are very helpful and the breakfast is supposed to be amazing with really good pancakes!

Unfortunately it is not the nicest of rooms and no sea view! It seems to have a few Mosquitos in the room and we saw a bogey on the headboard! We will be using the silk sleeping liners and mosquito net and glad its only for one night!

Sandakan has a marina with navy boats in but not a lot else, think most people come here from airport for the night before going to surrounding areas, like we are! Did have a lovely meal though near the jetty.

    Bye for now!
