We had gone to bed at 7pm last night after an early dinner and were very lucky as missed another rain downpour on the way to our dorm by seconds- we had our only dry clothes left on!

Unfortunately, we had a noisy dorm so not much sleep had before getting up at 1.45am! Was cold also as no gas at the time we were there-so no hot water/heaters. Had gone to bed in clothes we were wearing for the climb!

Eggy bread and coffee and then started climb up to the summit. Was much trickier than the climbing done yesterday! Started with very steep steps and rocks and then actual rock climbing with also ropes to pull yourself up steep bits.

Both of us were wearing head torches as it was the middle if the night! There were sooo many stars everywhere, a completely clear sky!

We made it! Got to the summit for sunrise and it was beautiful! The summit was like being on a different planet with granite everywhere and no greenery!

It was definitely worth all the hard work getting up there to see the sunrise and it is one of the best things I have ever done!

However, what we forgot was we had to go all the way back down again! So we started at 6am from the summit, stopping to pick up bags and have another breakfast and then proper decline from 8.30, managed to get to the bottom by 12.30 in time for lunch.

My legs are so achy it's unbelievable and all that climbing must have firmed up something surely!

Came back to KK and had a well earned hot shower and drink and then went to night market for a gorgeous BBQ fish and huge prawns in spicy sauce, gorgeous!

Think an early night is in store for us tonight!Leggi altro
