It takes us a bit of convincing that we are at the right place, as there is no clear signage and no one around at the time. We decided to trust Wiki Camps and find a sunny spot (solar requirement) to park near a building ( it turns out used to be a restaurant). Shortly after we set up, Caroline. one of our hosts calls by to introduce herself and sets our minds at ease that we're in the right place! We're in a rush to have our lunch, sandwiches and open toasties, before we head off for our next tour, that requires us to arrive around 12.30pm for a 1pm start. We head off at 12.15pm.
Arrive back here after our Nitmiluk Gorge 1/2 day Canoeing tour around 5.30pm. Time to have a couple of drinks before getting tea. We are relaxing, drinks in hand, looking out over the dam from our seats out front of the closed restaurant, when Caroline, our host shows up. She has a lovely chat with us, asking how our day has been, and to let us know she's here to feed the Brim they have in the dam. We are welcome to come and feed them too - so we do! This is great - the brim are so fast and quite big, fun to watch. They don't catch them, not the best species for eating - and I can tell Caroline just likes having them in the dam. After Caroline leaves we have our tea, Roger cooks the chicken snitzels and I cut up the salad - perfect on this very warm evening. We tidy up, have showers and get to bed. I watch a movie on Prime - a romantic comedy, certainly puts me to sleep!
Monday sees us up around 7am., having a leisurely breakfast, then getting ourselves organised to head into Katherine to do some caravan 'house keeping' and fuel up. We leave this terrific spot (just a bit of morning traffic noise) around 9am.
In Katherine, while having a cuppa we come across Andrew, Georgie and their dog Daisy. So nice to cross paths again, they're on their way back from Darwin - now going to head to Broome.
We leave Katherine, heading to Edith Falls. to stay 2 nights at Leliyn Campground. While driving there, we have a Whatsapp call from Tegan 💕Baca lagi
