• Capricorn Caravan Park Carnavon

    19–21 de out. 2024, Austrália ⋅ 🌬 28 °C

Get here after calling into the 1st service station we came across - we needed fuel!
First impressions good with this park - and it continued as we booked in for 2 nights with friendly and helpful staff. Low season rates apply here - so happy to get a powered site for $25 a night. We're allocated site 125 and when we come to settle on it, I'm delighted with it's position, and we're in a very quiet area 'by ourselves' at this stage. Once we are set up, we go for a drive into Carnarvon to have a look. Nothing much open on a Saturday afternoon, but happy driving about looking at the water and wharfs. We find a Woolworths so we stop and do a 'top up' grocery shop. Back at our camp, we wander about the park checking out the amenities - really nice. Discover there is a food van on site tonight - I can't resist - it's Chinese takeaway, so our leftovers we were going to have can wait for tomorrow now! While waiting for our food order to be ready, Rog and I go roll some bowling bowls on the green here - good fun, and naturally Rog won. Our tea is yummy, Sweet and sour pork with rice for Roger, and Combination udon noodles for me, very fresh tasty ingredients. Shower time and now relaxing before bed.
Get up around 7am this Sunday morning. Nice and easy no rush, we have our breakfasts, weetbix and toast for Roger, muesli and banana for me. We get a call from Tegan, and Robert has joined as well, so it's great to have a catch up chat. Once we're organised we drive into Carnavon to do the walk along the old tram line to the old Jetty.
We come back for lunch, microwave reheat the chicken pasta, before heading out for another drive to check out some more of Carnarvon.
When we get back again we just relax in the caravan park, go for a swim then a shower, before having tea. This morning before we came back from our walk, we stopped at Woolworths and got some marked down cheap pizzas for tonight's tea. Roger cooks them up in the camp kitchen oven - and we sit and eat them while watching TV - the telethon and news. Roger does the dishes, while I catch up my budget books and get this up to date. Next I'll dry dishes and put away before going to bed too.
We're up before 6.30am - get into our moving day routine, breakfast, tidy up, and get all packed up and away to safely shift. We're underway around 8am. Will do a few things - go to Autopro and Woolworths in Carnarvon before calling in at the Space Museum on our way out.
