• DAY EIGHT.

    9. april, Nepal ⋅ ⛅ -14 °C

    📍 Start: Lobuche, 5020 m.ü.M
    🏁 Destination: Gorakshep, 5160 m.ü.M
    —> EVEREST BASE CAMP, 5364 m.ü.M 🤗🙏🏽

Today, I realized for the first time how many tourists want to reach the base camp. Until now, the teahouses and even the hiking routes haven‘t been overcrowded.🙏🏽Lobuche is a very small village, and maybe because of this, all tourists stayed in the same teahouse and so, everyone started the day at 7am, in a beautiful, white, but also very cold landscape.🌄☃️
The higher we went, the more difficult it became to walk and breathe. The air is quite thin, and everyone was coughing and had a cold, also in the night.🤧

Before lunchtime, we arrived in Gorak Shep, which is the starting point for the base camp.
It was obligatory to check the pulse and blood pressure. If the results were okay, you received the confirmation that you were allowed to hike to the base camp. ☑️🩸 Otherwise, you had to hike down.

I felt tired and very cold, even if we were drinking tea inside. Normally, it was planned to hike to the base camp in the afternoon, but I asked my guide if we could go now because the longer I sat, the colder and more tired I felt.😴

Finally, we started the journey to the base camp.🤩🇳🇵

⏱️ Time to hike: 6 hours
    🥾 Hiking level: middle-hard,
—> way to base camp - hard, difficult
🌞 Weather & temperature: cold, icy, breezy
    🤗 Feelings: exhausting, tired, frosty
after base camp: extremely happy, emotionally upset, satisfied, proud that i reach my goal🙏🏽
