Chicha morada is a traditional, non-alcoholic Peruvian beverage made by boiling dry purple corn (maíz morado) to extract its deep color and flavor. During the boiling process, the corn is infused with green apple, pineapple rinds, cinnamon, and cloves. After the mixture is strained and cooled, it is sweetened with white or brown sugar and finished with a squeeze of fresh lime juice.
