Jewish Quarter and more Ruin Bars

    September 24, 2022 in Hungary ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

After a day of history it was time to find another Ruin Bar and something to eat. The Mazel Tov was a recommended one in the Jewish Quarter so another ride on the underground was called for. (Even the Underground had pieces of artwork dotted around!)

Walking around the Jewish Quarter was interesting and although the Synagogue was closed there was still a chance to see some of its splendour on the outside. There was also plenty of street art to see as well as coming across other Ruin Bars, including a vegetarian one which we chose to avoid!

When we finally found the Mazel Tov bar, we found a queue to get in but after waiting for about 15 minutes we soon found why it was so popular! This one had been turned into an upmarket Middle Eastern restaurant, so different to the one we saw on our first evening in Budapest. A simple menu but the food was tasty, the staff were very helpful and the whole setting made for a lovely evening.

A tube ride back and a walk by the Danube to end the evening.
