    Tag 1: Feldberg - Lychen

    October 24, 2021 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 8 °C

First day of a trail called „Märkischer Landweg“, in the beautiful area between Mecklenburg and Brandenburg, famous for its abundance of lakes and waterways.
I’m happy to be finally out here, even if it’s only for two portions of the actual 200+ km trail through the Uckermark. The rest will follow another time.

The first day I combined what some guides recommend as two legs, with an ambitious total of 25 km. Oh and I’m feeling it now! The last 5 km were tough. Now I’m sitting in the restaurant of a cute guesthouse at Zenssee and rest my sore feet.

The trail is worth every pain, it is breathtakingly beautiful. The autumn colors, the lakes with totally clear water, the noises of the forest, the traces of wildlife, just everything! It turned out being an amazing day, after a bumpy start. Because this morning, about to leave the house, my backpack was soaked wet. The water pack (this bladder thingy you wear in the back and drink from attached hose) was apparently broken. Good thing I found out at home and could repack. Not with the equipment I envisioned and about an hour later than hoped I finally left. And then realized I forgot my hiking pole, too late to turn around. I like to walk with one of those lightweight, shock-absorbent, length adjustable trekking sticks. Well, the woods provide remedy for that problem. After three iterations I had the perfect walking companion. Only significant difference to mine was the length adjustability, which works only in one direction 😂

    Distance: 25,7 km

    Tag 2: Lychen - Templin

    October 25, 2021 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 8 °C

Day 2 was tough since my feet were still sore from first day. But once more the peace and beauty of the scenery more than made up for it. In the end I walked 21 km. Especially the first portion at 9 in the morning with mist still hanging over the lake was awesome.
In Templin my first episode of this trail ends but as soon as time allows I will be back!

    Day: 21,6 km
    Total: 47,3 km

    Tag 3: Ringenwalde - Templin

    November 16, 2021 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 7 °C

Also, präziser, die Etappe 3 in umgekehrter Richtung.

    Tageskilometer: 28,2 km
    Insgesamt: 75,5 km
