55. Egypt: Luxor - Luxor Temple

The Luxor Temple, located on the east bank of the Nile River, was constructed approximately 1400 BCE.

Unlike the other temples in Thebes, Luxor temple is not dedicated to a cult god or a pharaoh, but rather to the rejuvenation of kingship. Apparently it was where many of the pharaohs of Egypt were crowned.En savoir plus
