Port Douglas: Great Barrier Reef

Collected at 925am for trip with Quicksilver.
Boarded boat which took about an hour and a half to get to their pontoon in the outer Reef. Was a smooth ride (altho did take sickness pills so that might have helped). Decided to pay extra ($60) to have snorkelling tour with marine biologist. Don't think it was actually worth the money but meant I had guidance for first part of my time there as was a bit nervous about snorkelling again! Freaked out at first but then got used to it. Got given a stinger suit and had all the fins etc on.
Saw nemo, a turtle (twice) and some amazing surprisingly big and colourful fish. Got out for lunch (cold buffet with big salads and pasta etc) then went back in on my own after lunch. Decided not to wear life jacket this time, took a noodle thing instead. Not brave enough to go underwater properly, don't want to freak out in Australia! But was still amazing, so fascinating seeing all the wildlife. Go pro was good but didn't focus enough on all the little fish, they were just too far away for it to see.
Came back and fell asleep on way back, decided to walk back from ferry place as needed water anyway.
Got into room and chilled but read good blog when looking up things to do in Sydney and this girl basically was like ermmm your in Australia, get up and go out! You can sleep on the plane! It really made me get up and have shower as I was like yeah what am I doing chilling out here, I need to go out!
Went to see where the beach was, called 4 mile beach. A storm was coming in but looked amazing so will head there on Friday for proper walk.
Dinner in "The Mexican", amazing tacos and a beer watching the little birds squeaking so loudly going to bed. They are all amazing colours like green parrots.
Early night as up early for rainforest tomorrow!Read more
