• Temples 25-26, Nahari

A half day and another Onsen! At Temple 25 a temple employee and her son helped me phone my host for tonight. The boy especially was very happy to help and waved me goodbye enthusiastically.

When I arrived at Misono's house, a Henro House where she hosts pilgrims, she took me in her car to show me the local salt factory. They make 2000 different flavours and it is sold to top chefs for up to 300,000 yen per kilo. It reaches 70 degrees in there in the summer and workers must have a break after 30 minutes.

Then Misono dropped me off at the Onsen which has water from natural hot and cold springs.

Everywhere along this coast there are signs to tsunami safe zones on higher ground.

Misono also does a marvellous home made dinner. I'm here with Brazilians Gilles and Daniela, and Terry from Hong Kong.
