Kona, Hawaii

Our visit to Kona was lovely. We joined the Captain Zodiac snorkeling tour where we raced along the coastline to the Kealakekua Bay and snorkeled for about an hour and a half over coral and a multitude of colourful fish, sea urchins and anemones. This bay is where Captain Cook anchored two times in his trips to Hawaii. A white monument marks his place of death when he came into conflict with the Hawaiian people.
On our way back to Kona, we saw a lava tube and the face of Pelee in a rock cliff before we zipped back to town. On shore, we found some shopping spots and a museum area where a man was weaving traditional ceremonial head dresses that take him months to finish.Leggi altro
