At San Diego, we walked over to the nearby retired Midway aircraft carrier where we spent nearly 6 hours touring through the living quarters, the aircraft and the flight deck. This was a self guided tour and we really enjoyed the stories around the Midway Island battles, the rescue missions to South Vietnam and the tale of how the planes are launched from the catapult.
