Guatapé

Also been to Guatapé which is around 3h by bus from Medellín. The area has changed quite a lot over time since the original town of Guatapé was destroyed due to the construction of a dam in the 70s with the aim of creating a hydroelectric complex. Other than that the main attraction is probably La Piedra, a huge stone which you can climb up taking around 700 steps… We did the hike in the morning today in order to be the first ones on top and to avoid clashing into the tourist buses arriving from Medellín. After that we had a typical Colombian breakfast in the city centre: Scrambled eggs with tomato and onion served with an arepa, cheese and coffee!Lue lisää
