• Oysters and Sunsets

    September 17, 2025 in France ⋅ ☁️ 21 °C

Lazy start today, since we only had 28 km to cover.
We began by following the final stretch of the Canal du Midi before reaching the Mediterranean. The path was bustling with cyclists, so we decided to pause for a swim and soak up the sun ☀️. It honestly felt like a holiday day!

We then cycled into the outskirts of Sète and stopped for lunch—amazing seafood 💕.
After lunch, it was a quick ride across town to the port. Our accommodation is lovely, and our Italian host gave us plenty of tips for things to do this afternoon.

We started with a walk to Pointe Courte, a charming fishing village.
Next, we headed into the centre ville to see if we could catch a boat trip. We managed to snag the last two spots on the final departure—and it was absolutely worth it.

The trip took us through the canals (Sète is known as the Venice of the South of France), out into the Mediterranean, and then back into the Étang de Thau. We toured the oyster farms with a glass of wine in hand, watching the sunset—pure magic.

When we got back, oysters were a must. So we had dinner and then wandered back to our accommodation.
    Last day of cycling tomorrow!
