• Day 1 in Santa Cruz: The Booby

    As I walked back along this gorgeous beach, I continued to see a lot of wildlife, including the very inquisitive (and surprisingly fast) marine iguana in the video. I had to move quickly so as not to get too close; the rule in the Galapagos is to always keep 6ft from the wildlife - it's their home, not ours and to leave everything as you found it. Leave only your footprints in the sand. I then saw another path off to the side (pictured with prickly pear cacti either side), I wondered what was down there and boy am I glad I did! I came across another blue footed booby, sat on a rock. I spent some time watching him and managed to capture some good footage. It was amazing to be so close to such a rare creature!
