It is a Wet Day To Leave

We are up.. not bright nor early... but up and ready for another pilgrimage with Him. We have no idea what is in store except we know we are to go! It is wet and autumn type weather never the less we are off in 63minutes!!
Our first stop is Tauranga Airport (to dump).. the next is Cvana (to discuss awning quotes.)... a job we are considering having done while we are away... then off to overnight in Kaiawa.Read more

Miranda Hot Swim

OK... order placed at Cvana and we are on our way... First stop at the big bottle.. well maybe the not so big bottle at Paeroa where we stopped for lunch. Just had to let my cardiovascular system know that I am still the boss!! Then we went onto the Miranda Tasman Hot Pool Camp as they are the only ones now with a hot pool to soak in.
Tomorrow we are off to... I am not to sure where yet!! I will keep you posted.Read more

We left Kaiaua just after the break of a beautiful dawn this morning. The night before we could not go past trying out the Kaiaua Fish & Chip shops world famous fish and chips... totally yummy!
Arriving in Helensville we received favour from the Secretary of the A&P Show grounds who has allowed us to park up (with our doggie) for a couple of nights. They have a major production coming in here late on Saturday therefore we need to be gone.

Awesome guys and good weather by the looks. We at home but now going north as we have approx 6 weeks before G has some stuff removed off his face. Hope we catch up as God has totally blessed us!!!PTL so just waiting to collect before we leave

Another "Wonder Time" PYL!

Yesterday we arrived in Helensville and were given permission to park up at the show grounds.. right in town. Due to a major production being filmed here we need to be gone by Saturday afternoon... therefore we went out to the Helensville golf club to check it out. No way could we park there as the small carpark was totally full of vehicles.... therefore heading back into town we stopped at a wee market at an old church on the corner with the main highway. We had been close friends with a wonderful couple back in our Takapuna days but had lost their contact when they moved and we moved... could not find any trace of them anywhere but could remember that I thought they had moved to Kaukapakapa. Anyway, the lady at the church tried phoning friends to see if they knew our friends... nope!! A guy standing beside me said ... "I will put it out on the community FB page!" Within 60minutes we received a call from Julia saying her friend had seen the post and that we were looking for them, and just that morning they were talking and wondering where we were and how we were doing. Last night we spent time catching up and are back with them later today for dinner. By the way.. Gavyn has been very very sick in and out of various hospital for months trying to sort out his problem... he only came home 2days ago... I believe God has this in His hands.. "ALL SORTED!" TravelerWell that was good leading wasn't it. So did you get your motorhome site sorted too. You didn't exactly say. I'm sure local farmers wouldn't mind you in their paddocks if you door knocked. Pray about that too.

TravelerYes, all sorted... the International Movie Production is running a day late therefore we are now here until Sunday or Monday, and we also have Council permission to park up at the beautifully landscaped park around the netball courts... the gates are locked from 7pm until 6am daily!! ... awesome. Thank you Lord!

Where Do We Start???

Our trip to Helinsville was very memorable. Praying, discipling, more praying, and encouraging a Security Guard at the film set we were allowed to camp at for a few days... he had been baptized through water 2 weeks prior and was confused about his walk and faith!! A long talk and a time of prayer brought him right. A trip up to Shelly Beach, and a hot swim at Parikai, then off to Henderson for 3 days of ministry.
For the next two weeks we have a hospital appointment, funeral to attend, new awning for the manufacturer to fit to Waymaker, school reunion to attend, and Cooper's Run concert to get to.... a busy time is coming up... totally awesome!! TYJRead more

Not So Much A Pilgrimage

We are off again but this time to Christine's 60th High School Jubilee in Papatoetoe. We spent last night in Pukekohe; Maurices place of birth and caught up with Neville and Sue, one of his cousins.... a great evening.
Today we came through to the old Jolly Farmer Inn in Drury that is now a Irish Pub with a commercual camp ground attached. Chrissy got the laundry done, we then went for a wee walk into the village and then home to Waymaker for tea.
Tomorrow we are off to Aorere College for the Alumni verses Student rugby game and the opening reunion event.Read more

Further up the highway....

Moving right along .. on our first night out we managed to catch up with my cousin Neville and his wife Sue from Buckland... a wonderful night of reminiscing and eating!!
Then we were off to Christine's Aorere College 60th Reunion... a fun and very well attended night. To cap it off, we were given permission to park Waymaker up in the school teachers' carpark for the night, which was right next to the hall... awesome.
Sadly, in the morning while packing Waymaker up to travel I had a fall.. was cut up a bit but nothing, broken.. praise God!
We were then off to the old Jolly Farmer Inn in Drury that is now an Irish Pub with a commercial Caraven Park connected to it. Of course we celebrated St Patrick's Day with all its music, singing and dancing... well until around 5'ish!
Next morning we were off to the Thames Coast for a wee bit of relaxation and for whatever He has for us. We are now parked up beside the Firth just a couple of km's north of Thames while totally enjoying the view while listening to the waves as they gently lap the shore.... bliss.. total bliss!!Read more

Eventful Two Days

Our first stopover on the Thames coast was eventful as a couple from a neighbouring motorhome called in to visit. They attend a Baptist Church in Rangiora, and a couple of hours discussing scripture pursued.
The next morning we were off to Coronandel township but felt led to stop for morning tea on a large reserve streaming in sunlight. (see photo) Soon after we stopped another motorhome arrived and parked away from us then a gentleman got out to head off to the public toilets, waved to us and then changed his direction and came to us. He and his wife attended the Baptist Church in Cambridge.

They had just bought their motorhome days earlier and were out giving her a run. They too had a small dog called Levi so Levi and Cyrus spent time sniffing one another while we sat at the bbq table and discussed scripture!! 90minutes later after a beautiful time of prayer they went their way.. except.. Roy came running back to say Levi had collapsed and his eyes were popping out! I went to him and got down to pray over him and within seconds he came to his eyes were right and he started getting to his paws... they left shortly afterwards to take him through to a Thames vet to be checked over.
We continued onto Coromendel to see what the next ministry our precious Father has for us... stopping on the way for oysters, muscles, crab sticks, and kumera chips... awesome!Read more

We are Still on The Go!

For the past weeks we have been busy getting work done to Waymaker, catching up with family and friends, plus preparing for our run through to Christmas!!... that's right folks... Christmas is not very far away!
We have attended our dear friends 60th wedding anniversary, taken several friends out for meals, spoke to communion at our Church on Resurrection Sunday, and now we leave tomorrow on a further pilgrimage that will include ministering at the Wave Church in Opunaki, and also plan some golf, fishing, and sunbathing in our winter less north.Read more

Thornton...

Having spent three days parked up by the new Pukehina Surf Club we caught up with some other happy motorhomers and also did a wee bit of bike riding and fishing. Well, Christine did the fishing as she caught fish.. 4 kauwhai while I fed them for her. We have now moved onto Thornton Beach Camp.. an absolutely wonderful camp with full amenities and is right on the beach and river estuary... awesome!! We put up our new awning for the first time... it works well. We will try our hand at fishing over the low water later today.
Because we have Cyrus, we were placed in the area near the main gate which is specially for dog owners... we were the only ones here until a few minutes ago.. we now have neighbours!! The area is very handy to the store and showers/laundry!!
We move off tomorrow to spend a few days with dear friends at Rotoiti Forest before heading south to Opunake to speak at the Wave Church.Read more
Maybe we will catch up somewhere in the winter less north! Still at home adding air suspension to the Ute then replacement solar panels as we keep running out of power

Heading South Again

We left our Friends home in the Rotoiti Forest and headed off to Opunake where I am ministering this weekend. First stop was at Turangi then onto the Château and Whakapapa Ski Fields. Sadly there was nothing but rock plus many signs saying "no dogs." Therefore we came off the mountain and drove onto Taumarunui for the night. Just outside our motorhome were lots of beautiful big red mushrooms.
Next morning, against advice we headed off down the Forgotten World Highway. We knew the road would only be open for 1hour from 12noon until 1pm as they were doing major road works plus stabilising cliffs and washouts.... gee it was bad... they even had a ban on heavy vehicles driving the 5hours over it due to it unstable condition in parts.
We were stopped an hour in and had to wait 2hours. We did what we all would do and invite others plus the "stop and go" lady in for a latte'... the party started as too did the rain. Eventually we were released to drive on and wow! what a drive... much of it over tracks under construction.... eventually we made it onto the black top again and got to Whangamomona before the passport office closed... my old NZ passport had expired therfore applied for their republic's new one.
Then onto Stratford where showers etc were much appreciated... roll on tomorrow!Read more
TravelerThat sounds about as bad as us travelling to the top of the Coromandel on roads 1.5 car width, with precipitous drops into the ocean and praying not to meet a motorhome or anything wide coming the other way. We were waved on past an enormous water tanker and I'm sure our wheels were over the edge. By Gods grace we are all able to tell our tales. Can you remember where you were 44 years ago, today? May God bless your preaching Sunday to bless and save many.

TravelerCFNI... The road in the part which was under construction was barley wide enough for Waymaker with cliff on one and side and a major drop off on the other... and all slushy clay!!

End of This Journey

Our trip to minister at the Wave Church in Opunake was really fruitful. Not only have I been made a citizen of the Republic of Whangamomona with their passport to prove it but also conqueror the Fogotten World Highway in the pouring rain while it was under reconstruction.... it was only opened from noon until 1pm for "light" vehicles only... our 7tonne motorhome made it through as a "light vehicle!!"... yippee!!
The ministry on Sunday was most fruitful. I mentioned to one of the elders on Saturday that the message the Lord had given me was one I would bring to my own church but never to any other, yet it is what I had to bring.
On the Saturday it was confirmed twice that "He" was on track, as too with the songs chosen in the worship time. There was a response of over 20 to the altar call with one of the men calling out from the altar "you should all be up here!"
We have our grandsons 21st this Saturday in Tauranga then a 3day event in Paeroa to attend next week.. and after that... we don't yet know!

TravelerIn the photo I was ministering at the Wave Church in Opunake. At present we are on Otorohonga... Chrissy has been undergoing more tests etc for the cyst on her spinal chord. We heard from the Neurosurgeons committee today saying they are concerned and that she needs to go back into Waikato for more scans and tests. .. not sure when.. they will let us know.
