Beautiful forest and lakes

A fabulous day-hike in Huerquehue National Park - Sendero Los Lagos. We took over 8 hours to enjoy the beauty of this 10km walk, stopping for chats, sits, snacks, swims, rests and reading. Firstly the trail climbs up several hundred metres of altitude for incredible views back over Lago Tinquilco, our base for 4 days, and towards the stand-out Volcán Villarrica. Then it weaves through spectacular mixed forest (many Nothofagus & podocarps, plus Araucaria araucana) to visit 3 lakes: Chico, Toro & Verde; also with amazing views.
