Our usual routine evening flight out.
Arrived at the airport just after 4pm, checked in our luggage and straight to Atura for drinks and dinner.
It was a standard flight there and late into Risata - Just after midnight.

Breakfast at Risata then coffee at Nuka before Jenny had her injectables at Radiance.
Then Pool time......the pool at Risata was quite busy but we had a couple of lounges brought out for us.
We used the re-opened Pool Bar and chatted with some other regulars.
Had lunch by the pool and then had a doze before heading back to the room to freshen up to go to Jimmy's Bar.Lue lisää

Walked the beach front to Jimmy's and met up with the boys and Richard & Kendra. Stayed for the mandatory sunset then checked out R&Ks hotel at The Tuntrum, had a drink and chat then walked to Kori Restaurant for dinner.
Taxi back to Risata, Jenny had a massage and crashed it back in the room.Lue lisää

Getting to Nusa Penida

Kadek picked us up from Risata and drove us to Sanur to catch a fast boat over to Nusa Penida.
On arrival, we found out that all of the boats from Sanur were cancelled due to a fatal accident that had happened yesterday. So, after some negotiations with staff at The Sebali, our accommodation on Penida, Kadek drove us one hour north to Kusamba where we caught another fast boat to Penida.Lue lisää

Kelingking Beach

We had breakfast and then drove with Gede to Kelingking Beach, 45 minutes along narrow and sometimes bumpy roads.
The scenery is everything I imagined but somewhat tempered by the Glass Elevator being built by a Chinese consortium so that people can walk on the pristine beach below. Should never have been allowed. 😟
Tourists and monkeys everywhere kind of spoils what is an amazing place.Lue lisää

Broken Beach and Angel's Billabong

After Kelingking Beach, Gede drove us to see Broken Beach and Angel's Billabong, both of which were pretty amazing. We saw a Mantaray and a Sea Turtle swimming close to shore.

The Sebali - Nusa Penida

The Sebali on Nusa Penida is a new resort which opened in December 2024.
We couldn't fault it.
The rooms, the staff, the location, the food were all excellent.

Welcome to Candidasa

We were met at the Fastboat terminal by Buddy, a contact from our last trip to take us to Candidasa.
There had been an accident (Bus on fire) on the road earlier so we had to take a huge detour through small villages on narrow roads which slowed us down somewhat.
We arrived at Hotel Genggong, had lunch then walked into town to get supplies.
Had some peaceful pool time until after sunset then searched the local area for dinner.
We found the Sarira Restaurant in the Ariras Resort and it was spectacular.
I had the Balinese Chicken Curry and it was sublime.
We looked for a Spa after dinner but none were open so we retired to our rooms.Lue lisää

Walked the main street to the Temple, coffee and donuts at Wacky Jacky's.
Drinks by the beach at Pandan Restaurant.
Lunch at Aquaria Hotel and Spa.
Massage on the way back to Genggong and met up with Nengah, our driver from our previous trip.

Not a great start to our Amed stay as we realise that where we are staying (Vienna Beach Resort) is not what we expected.
We couldn't use the pool or restaurant as they allow people from outside the resort to use their facilities.
Long story short, we've cancelled the next two nights and found rooms at Seamount Hotel.
But we did find a nice spot for lunch - Coral View, and then for dinner - Tumpek at Hidden Paradise cottages in the evening.Lue lisää

Woke in a better frame of mind knowing we were moving to The Seamount Hotel today.
A spectacular sunrise also helped kick-start the day.

We checked in to Seamount Hotel at 10.30am but the rooms weren't ready until 2pm so we walked the street and did a bit of shopping.
Had drinks and lunch at Teatro Bar on the beach then went for a 1.5 hr full body massage.
Had a long relaxing swim back at Seamount, had pre drinks at R&Ks room while the sun set, then walked to a close by Beach Warung for dinner, sitting at a table on the sand. Perfect 👌.Lue lisää

Went to the beach at 6am for sunrise. Didn't dissapoint.
Walk up the street to Mejore for coffee and back to Seamount for breakfast
Kendra, Jenny and I went for a snorkel, Richard went for a massage.
Sat by the pool until lunch then walked up the street to find a cool lunch spot. Ended up across from the hotel.
Chilled back in the room and had a sleep in the afternoon.
Pre drinks at R&Ks balcony then walked along the beach to Teatro.
Had a great night with live music then had rooftop drinks down the road then a walk back to the hotel around 11pm.
Kadek had messaged us to say he couldn't pick us up in the morning due to his foot.Lue lisää

Richard went to the Brazilian BBQ for dinner. Jenny, Kendra and I were meant to dine at Santorini in Kuta but they were full with a half hour wait so we walked to Warung Damar.

Jen started the day with a walk and I went to gym.
Breakfast at Nuka then we walked to Febri's with R&K for an hour leg massage.
From there, Made picked us up and we went made our way around to UD Nuriah Kitchen Dishes, Geneva Handicraft Centre, lunch at Burger King, My Shop Bali, then walked to Legian Beach for drinks and to pick up R&Ks Bean Bags.
The girls went off for an hour for more shipping while Richard and I sat on the beach.
Back to Risata, sat by the pool until we went for a late dinner at Nuka.Lue lisää
