Train on a Ferry (Messina -> Napoli)

Today was a big travel day and also the day we bid farewell to Bailey for a few weeks 😥 We were expecting about 6 hours off the train and a tunnel to get from Sicily to the main land. What we were not expecting was 5 hours on a train and that the solution to get everyone across to mainland Italy was to put the train on a ferry and send the whole thing across the channel to the toe of the boot. Not much of note occurred except a friendly Italian nonna on the train kept trying to make conversation with me in Italian and when I didn't understand something she would just repeat herself louder and louder until I nodded and pretended to understand.
