Plitvice? More like Plit-nice 👌

The main reason for our stay in Korenica was to visit the Plitvice Lakes National Park. It's a very bizarre National Park with weird train/bus hybrid vehicles that drive you to the beginning of different loop walks. The park itself was amazing and we got there as soon as it opened to try and beat the crowds which sort of worked...? We didn't appreciate how much it had worked until we got to the Veliki Slap (Big Waterfall) which is sort of the main attraction and some people will just bus out, see that and leave. There was a queue down the trail to get around the corner to see it and it somewhat ruined the immersion in nature but the hike back around to our starting point helped to fix that. We met up with one of our friends from Bled and her French friend for the second half of our hike which was a bit of fun. The pictures don't really do it justice but we tried! In the afternoon we had a massive nap and then reconvened for a beverage in the outdoor area out the back of our Airbnb and cooked a very basic pasta dinner (that was enhanced by the wine which is sold by the litre for €2.30).
