    A Sweet Day!
    Today we went to the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. Stunning stands of huge bamboo plants frame this path. This was a beautiful introduction to this sacred area.

    Then we visited the Tenryu-ji Temple or “Temple of the Heavenly Dragon” established in 1339. Set in a magnificent ancient garden the temple has numerous buildings and at its heart, a pond in the shape of the Chinese character kokoro or “enlightened heart”.Read more
