Homún Cenote Tour

We met with Paolo from Italy again and took a Colectivo to Hómun. There we rented a private driver for the day to visit some cenotes. The first one was pretty fun, I jumped down the platform after contemplating for a way too long time. I really just need to do and not overthink things :) the second one was kinda pretty with the hole and round form but the third one was just great. In the shape of an eye, crystal clear water, very deep, carved in stones laying at the bottom. Really, really beautiful.
But honestly: the last one topped everything. We had to rob into it through a very small water filled tunnel and then got into a Mayan temple Cenote. There were stalactites everywhere and no sunlight coming through because it was so deep and hidden. To get to the tunnel we had to go down a quite steep stairway and then inside we just sat there, relaxed and then the lights were turned off for 5 minutes and it was very spiritual and calm to exist in nothingness.Read more
