    April 18 in Moldova ⋅ 🌬 15 °C

So. Have you ever been to a country that does not exist? Apparently I have been to an unrecognized state, internationally acknowledged as a part of Moldova today! It seems to be a post-Soviet “frozen conflict” zone under Russian military occupation.
By getting a twelve hour Visa to cross a border to a country not being seen as a sovereign entity but by two other more or less unrecognized states of this same USSR-past and having to leave my passport to Russian Customs I will admit that this day has been - somehow - part of an even tougher adventure than expected before.

I have had no expectations and was positively surprised as to what we have seen, experienced and got to think about today.
Btw: the official spoken language here is Russian.

I may not have been born in times of parted Germany but I do feel as if today I kind of got an impression of what life could have been like at that time - without actually really having an equal comparison.

Anyways - so much to take in from this trip to a country I would have never thought of getting to know - nor having had an idea of it before. And I am talking about Moldova in general here.
More than a 10/10 recommendation to visit. Seriously. Worth it!!
