22 k Hike

A big day of hiking today. A 22-kilometre trek to the base of the Torres del Paine. The entire hike was filled with dramatic panoramas, crossing glacial lakes, passing through river valleys and mountain forest, culminating in one of the most impressive lookouts in the park, over the spectacular Torres - an imposing pinnacles of sharp granite that rose up over 2,600 metres. The total ascent and descent of the hike was 950 metres, from a starting altitude of 30 metres to the peak of 980 metres, over approximately ten hours.
