Mount Fitzroy

Today, we set out with a local guide, in bright sunshine to cover the distance to the base of Mount Fitz Roy, whose summit is almost permanently covered in clouds but not today!The mountain reaches 3405 metres and we hiked to the base at around 1200 metres. Its forests and slopes are home to a unique array of wildlife, including the huemel (a small deer) and the majestic condor. The scale and grandeur of this setting made this walk truly amazing.
Our total ascent and descent was approximately 950m / 3150ft, over a distance of 26 kilometres / 16.1 miles. It took us about nine hours.Leia mais
