The War of Jenkins Ear

Another tour today but a really interesting one this time! We heard about the War of Jenkins' Ear (1739–1748), featuring one of the largest naval armadas in history, rivaling the Normandy landings..The British captured the Boca Chica entrance to Cartagena but suffered heavy losses. This initial, costly victory, combined with the subsequent failure to take the city, led to a humiliating British retreat,  The forts protecting this entrance—San Fernando and San José—remain key, popular historical sites in modern Cartagena.Leggi altro
