• Grandmas Cooking School

    22. december, Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

Today we spent the day at Grandma’s Cooking School in Chiang Mai, and it was so much more than learning recipes.

We wandered through the local market first — colors, smells, sounds — learning how food begins with the land and with care. Back at Grandma’s, the property was pristine. Everything cared for just-so.. like wandering through a secret garden. Everything slowed down. Hands in bowls, laughter in the air, herbs crushed and tasted, stories shared between strangers who felt like family by the 4th time we sat down to eat. I think we entered food comas 3 seperate times. This place was super cool. Our instructor spoke wicked English and was funny and let us engaged the whole time. 7 hours of eating and cooking.

Nothing rushed. Nothing fancy. Just simple ingredients, passed-down knowledge, and the quiet wisdom that lives in kitchens all over the world.

It felt like being welcomed into someone’s home — where food is love, learning is gentle, and everyone belongs at the table.

My heart (and belly) are very full. 🍃🥥
